Local elections in Belgium

This Sunday Belgium will vote for local governments. Very important for my city is that parties such as Vlaams Belang will try to become so important that they will claim the victory. Now Vlaams Belang is for some of you not so well known, but if I tell you they are not at all involved with nature and are willing to put all their budgets into security, you know I can never vote for them. But there is a good alternative which is Groen! (green). Clearly they do represent my ideas, so I'm talking to as many people as possible what they stand for. And believe me they do more than plant trees in a city.
That day I will have to play my role in democracy as I was "invited" to be part of the electionteam. I'll have to be present in the electionhouse and check whether everything is going as planned. A full day, underpayed and amongst people I have never seen before. Not the first thing I would choose to do on a Sunday. But yeah, it's part of democracy and if this only happens once or twice in a lifetime, I'm not going to look for a bad excuse. An excuse...., that's what many people look for. I think that is unacceptable. It is those kind of people that will always complain about others, but if they have to invest something themselves....
