Time for "real" weather

Belgium is experiencing the warmest first part of winter since the KMI started making records of the Belgian weather in 1830. Since winter started I haven't seen any snowflurry, and below 0 temperatures have been very rare, etc. A lot of people seem to like it, and do not consider what the consequences are for nature and themselves. In the Belgian newspaper the was a message last week, stating that the Belgian cost might become the new Cote d'Azur in some years. Spain will become too warm for tourists, and the Belgians can stay in their own country to spend holidays.Well, time for me to move! I won't be able to have even longer traffic jams to drive to the sea. More tropical night here in the city, more stupid insects that keep you awake at night, more noise in the streets because of people spending their money on terasses using too much alcohol.Since a week now, I started preparing for an extremely hot summer. One way or another I have the feeling that last years summer was just an example of what's to come. If this winter is not able to cool down the North Sea a bit more, we'll have much higher temperatures from the beginning. Last years' spring was cool even until the end of May. If the weather stays as mild/warm as it is now, summer will start in April iso in June. The ineteresting part of this weather is to see how nature is trying to compensate the high amounts of energy that were built up last summertime, or that were not yet used during the autumn and the first part of winter. We had some very active depression weather this winter, and the stormseason will reach a peak during the second part of this week. This winter looks a lot like the winter of 89-90. It was a very interesting winter as it was the warmest ever, but also the windiest ever. There were a lot of winterstorms, especially in January and February. And on January 25th there was even a hurricane, with windgusts of over 170km/h. The amount of damage was enormous. Now if I say that this winter looks a lot like the 89-90 winter, it maybe too easy to say that we will have big storms again. Now for this Thursday there are big chances of having a huge storm. The potential windgusts are now put at 140km/h. Just a bit lower as in 90, and still 3 days to go.Even more interesting is that by early next week, when this storm has cleaned up the atmosphere a bit, we might finally see our first snowflakes of the season! Now that would be something. If this is confirmed I'll start explaining very detailed why I'm so crazy about snow. But let's wait with that for some days. If start talking about snow I'll never stop.
