Time's up. No doubting anymore, you and I are really responsible for what's happening with the globes' temperature. So what? Consequences go from melting icecaps, to more heatwaves, to rising sealevels and more storms and flooding... If this would still make you feel like "I don't care" you have a huge problem. That would mean that you don't care that the roof of your house would be blown of by a storm. If you decide that global warming is not your problem, you should consider the above.
Most people want to change something in their life, but think they can't. Well you're wrong too, becuase YOU CAN! While reading this message, switch out your readinglight at your desk. Reading a message on a computer does not need additional light...
Sam and I did change many other things at our home in Antwerp. We switched energyprovider. We are now 100% sure that all the electricity we use is green. On top of that we pay less than what we did at the previous providor. For Belgians, visit following website to find all info related to that. It is easy: www.vreg.be
Next to that we started looking at our consumer profile. This resulted, when we got 1 week ago our yearly bill, into an additional saving of 85 EUR per year. Not a lot? Well for that amount Sam and I can heat our house and use all electronic devises for an 2 extra months....
Recently Sam and I changed job. As a consequence we both stopped driving by car to our job. Sam drives on his bike, I have a combination of the train and my bike. It is not only an enormous freedom, it feels good to be on the road without polluting, and without the stress of a trafficjam. We should ALL reduce the amount of short trips using our cars. It's just a matter of getting used to it!
TIME FOR CHANGE, we have no time to loose... I recently read a book which was about the lack of real needs. We are all so spoiled people, that we forgot completely what it is like to live with not always everything. Do you know how it feels like to really not have something, but to at the same moment understand that it is good for you? Think about it, and you'll learn that IT IS GOOD for you... good luck.
