On last Sunday I had the chance to join the Flemish delegation, visiting Stavanger, on their trip to the mountains around Stavanger. When you get such an invitation you know that you'll be seeing one of the most beautiful places on earth. And than when you are looking outside while the buss is driving through an area that makes me think of the moon, you know that you could not even foresee how beautiful it is in reality. (what a setence...) But no really, I was just amazed to see the mountains, green areas, wild rivers etc. We made a brief stop in a small candle shop, where you ofcourse have an part dedicated to christimas all year round. The weather was very bad. But if you know that you are a witness of something very interesting in meteorology, you enjoy it. Most peple already know that I like rain, grey skies and snow, so that shouldn't surprise anyone. Here in Stavanger, on the southwestern tip of Norway the stormcloudes from the Atlatic rush in, and really loose all of their moisture in the mountains. So when it rains, and that is in this area almost every day, it rains cats and dogs for hours. These huge amounts of water that fall from the sky, trigger all kinds of small waterfalls, merging into bigger waterfalls, and finally into wild rivers. The sounds and smell created by all that water, is just one of the most beautiful things I can think off. Maybe Norway IS the place to be for me?

Attention!
I know that Norway (or northern countries) are the place for me. I'm tired of wild hot summer of Italy (especially in the Padana flatland!). I'm full by cornfields, I want wind, ice and mountains. That's why I spent my holidays above the 50th parallel.
Btw, nice blog Jeroen! :)
